Our Susan over at "Stony River" hosts Microfiction Monday. I thought I'd give it a try and see if I can come up with something. The idea is to use Susan's picture she posts then compose a story up to and including characters, punctuation marks, etc adding up to 140. I believe you can use less but not more. Susan provided a "Convenient Link" {Everyone should have one in a Convenient Pocket} if you need help in attaining that magic number of 140. Whilst at Susan's visit all the other wonderful Entries in the game.
"Jarge, You wouldn't believe me but as Sure as We are standing here and God as my Witness. This is 'The Thing' that Phil Harris sings about".Here's "Phil's Song" that explains it all.
I am posting this real early this week but for good reason. Today I took possession of the keys for my New Apartment. Over this Weekend {Saturday n Sunday} I will be moving things out of my Sister's and to my New Place. I won't have time to make the post at the usual time on Sunday.
Also as of tomorrow when I disconnect the computer, I won't have any Internet Connexion until Tuesday at Supper Time when Rogers Cable comes to install my Internet.
I am hoping that one of my Blogging Buds will be kind enough to place my link for this week at Susan's when she posts her Microfiction Monday.
Well it is getting late and tomorrow is a busy day, so will close off for now.
Thank you everyone who have kept me in Prayer over the last few months. I do appreciate all of you.
Into Paradise......................May the Angels lead you.
God Bless

27 Visitor{s}:
I wish for you a quick, UNEVENTFUL move with a cable guy who is on time!
And I loved your story!
*from out of the mist and cupping hands around mouth, "blasts" a MAJOR BEEEEEEEEEEE! OOOOOOOOOOOH!*
Has anyone ever told you you're a genius, Bill?! Just in case, may I? (NOTE TO FELLOW COMMENTERS aka The Old Fart's Blog Fan Club: Please follow suit. *points over shoulder* The line forms here.) You're a genius, Billybuoy, you're a genius!. Yours is definitely the perfect icing to frost this week's flash tale image! Bravissimo!
Best wishes on your move today. (Finally, a well-deserved step forward --plus, your kit-kats are going to just love their new "playground"!) I present to you the sprinkled-with-Farkled-sparkles, magic Lucky Lifebuoy Soap bar! (<--click) Just as lathering up with a regular bar of Lifebuoy will prevent B.O., if you wash your hands with this particular cake prior to lifting or unpacking your Moving Day boxes, any obstacles that might otherwise get in your way, will be snuffed out! (<--Think Mission Impossible tapes immediately after Jim Phelps has given them a listen.) Keep your ears open, too. Rumor has it that the bar will emit a slow-moaning ONE OF THESE (<--click, again), twice-- with the second foggy horn "singing" a smitch lower, while you're busy sudsing up. What a perk that is, eh?!
I was just again drinking in the pictures you took of the lovely-beyond-words Victoria Park, posted in a previous blog entry of yours. What a wonderful, Paradisey place! ...Watch your step, though, Bill, the place eerily looks a heck of a lot like Willoughby. LOL! (Do you recall the Twilight Zone episode, "A Stop at Willoughby"? (<--Click to view. But, YIKES! Hold on to your hat first, mister, and it probably wouldn't hurt, either, to slather up entirely, using that magic Lucky Lifebuoy bar. P.S. If you're at all superstitious, I can get you more. LOL!)
Good luck Bill on your move.
May it be a quick one and like Hope says Uneventful! Those are the best kind!
Loved your Microfiction as always.
You leave us for a few days with only smiles.:)
Hope ~ Thanks, all that is left is Supper at my Sisters and to fetch the boys and come back for the stay.
Sparkle ~ I don't know where to begin to say Thank you for this wonderful {have me at a loss for words, which is hard to do} comment. The Big Fireball Red Glow coming out of the East {I think you said you were in Wisconsin} is me blushing. Which is another hard thing to do is make me blush. Your comment says it all and I will add no more but to say Thank you yet again.
Peggy ~ Thanks, it is now over, the last trip before heading back to get the boys was to set up the computer.
In case everyone is wondering why I am online, my computer found an Unsecure Wireless Connexion. Either that or I got tagged into a free Cafe Connexion. I am not that far from Downtown now, so it might be possible.
I have Rogers coming on Tuesday to hook me up so I won't be using free internet for long.
I'm sure that my husband would enjoy this Bill. He listens to a lot of old radio shows and speaks of Phil Harris!
I wish you well with your move. When you get settled in, I expect to see a blog post telling us all about it, O.K.? Wishing you a "Smooth Move!".
Love Di ♥
Di ~ It is nice to be in my own place. As soon as the Rogers Installer is through on Tuesday Eve I'll pop by and make a quick post. The Internet Connexion that was there yesterday isn't there this morning. I can still access the internet through my phone. Limited access but I can still touch base.
You're a peach, Bill, and you're welcome! I trust you and your kittybinks' first night in the new abode went well? Did you sit around a toasted marshmallow telling ghost stories, or fill those tiny holes in the wall left from pictures hung by the previous apartmenter with glow-in-the-dark paste?! No, that would be me, now, wouldn't it? LOL!
P.S. Cool! My word verification is "ticklepnk"!
loved your story :)
I wish you nothing but happy times in your new apartment
Wow! Bill, how preposterous can you get! I would never have thought of that in a million years.
Just great ยต-fiction!
..
Best wishes on you new venture. Your moving seems to be an adventure taken with happy anticipation.
..
Terrific story as always, Bill! I do hope your move goes well and that you find nothing but fun and smiles in your new apartment!
Sylvia
Hope you are safe and happy in your new home, Bill.
I remember Phil Harris, and 'The Thing'! My father made sure I listened to all the important things in the 1950s, and this was one of them.

Bill,
I loved Phil Harris and "The Thing" - thanks so much for bringing it back for our enjoyment! Loved your take on this week's picture! Glad your move went well and you are enjoying your new digs.
~Jean
I loved listening to that old song, Bill! I vaguely remember the song from my childhood. Those old guys had better not open that there box. Perfect song for this week's MM!
I hope the move to your apartment goes smoothly and your new life there is a happy one.
Good luck with the move Bill! I really liked the song, and you're right-that must be what Phil was singing about. LOL!
Thanks for the link -- it explained the MF which was terrific, as always!
I listened to the song, but must admit, when I read Phil Harris, combined withe pic, I couldn't help but think of the late Capt. Phil Harris from Deadliest Catch on Discovery Channel. Thank you for introducing me to another!
Wish you the best on your move! :>
Well, it's certainly a thing.
Very apposite. And the Phil Harris song, too.
Maybe the soap and ring will help float
you through the move- I hate moving!
thanks.
Although your musical link didn't work fo rme, I went on YouTube and found another rendition. I love the connection you made between it and the illustration! LOL
Wishing you the best of luck with your move! Great microfiction entry!!
Impressive as always, Bill. And did I mention funny?
All best for the move.
Michael
